Primatech

Everyone who watched Heroes tonight undoubtedly noticed the business card exchange from Mr Bennet (the “bad guy”) and Mohinder Suresh. Did any of you care to take note of the website and phone number on the card? No? Well, I did. Here’s what I found.

The website for the company on the business card was primatechpaper.com. At first, I was like “Primate CH Paper? What the hell is that?” Then I went to the website and felt dumb - “Primatech Paper” is the name of the company, the beard that hides the face of Mr Bennet’s secret organization. The logo of the company, as seen here, is really well done - retro, cool, and professional. (Who else thinks that this logo would make an awesome T-shirt?!) You can look around the website, but there’s not much to see… unless you call them.

Upon calling 800-PRIMA-16 you’re greeted by another well executed platform, this time in the form of a business phone directory - press 1 for Sales, press 2 for Shipping, press 3 for Personnel. Prompts 1 and 2 give you an all agents are busy, try again later type of message; prompt 3, however, gives you a job code. Go to the Jobs section of the Primatech website and plug in the code “mt36″, and you’re taken to an application page. Yeah, application, as in a job (however, somewhat unfortunately, it’s not a real job). The application asks for all of your personal residential information. I tried to skip providing my phone number, but the system wasn’t going for it. I coulda put in a fake number but, being the Heroes fan that I am, I opted to go for the real thing in hopes that I might get a recorded call or some other cool tidbit.

It’s been about 15 minutes now and I haven’t received a phone call, but I did get an email from Primatech:

Thank you for your interest in Primatech Paper. We will be in contact once we evaluate your application.

Yeah it’s kinda lame, but I think the whole concept of developing a fanbase in show-based websites is really cool. I’m hopeful that they’ll do something cool with this. The only thing I’m thinking about now is what I put for my application. At the bottom of the application is a short personality test that basically asks, “Are you a nice guy, a jerk, or indifferent?” I think I leaned towards the nice guy/indifferent genre, but perhaps I would’ve received a different response had I indicated that I was more of the jerkish variety?

I also opted to get text messages from Primatech, which told me:

You’ll be hearing from me again soon. We have a lot to do together.

Very cool.

I loved tonight’s episode. The characters are so interesting, and I LMAO’d when Hiro saw Nathan Petrelli and exclaimed, “Fly man!” Also, I find myself liking Claire’s character more and more. I thought she was somewhat bland in the beginning, but I think her character’s personality is finally starting to come through. I really like the relationship between Claire and “the Haitian”, and I’d like to see more of what he’s got to offer.
