X-Men: The Last Stand

May 26th, 2006 Tagged with , ,

Supposedly the final movie of the X-Men live action franchise, X-Men: The Last Stand releases in theaters today, May 26th. Through my connections (Brent, that is) I was able to attend a full screening of the new flick just hours before it’s Thursday midnight/Friday morning release - bonus.

‘The Office’rs Have Blogs

May 25th, 2006

The Office

Several of the fine actors from one of my favorite shows of all time, The Office, have blogs on MySpace. While I’m not a big fan of MySpace (though I don’t think it’s the antichrist) it does have it’s uses in that it’s fairly easy to set up a MySpace account, lots of people use it, and people who you purposely stopped talking to because they got on your nerves haven’t talked to in a long time can find you. ;)

American Idol 5 - Finals

Taylor Hicks and Katherine McPhee

As much as it pains me to admit that I enjoy American Idol, it pains me even more to say that I want Taylor Hicks to win. Taylor was born for this. He was born to be an Idol. It’s in his soul.

Why do I like you?

May 18th, 2006 Tagged with ,

Sierra asked me that last night. “Why do I like you so much?”

“I dunno,” I said. I really didn’t have an answer.

“Do you like me so much?”

“Of course I do!” I said. I mean, who couldn’t like this little girl? She’s so funny and sweet.

Her question really got me thinking though - why do we, as humans, like things? Why do some like certain things while others don’t, and to differing degrees? Is it something metaphysical, like a god, or is it simply the way our brains function? However you choose to explain it, only one thing is certain - love exists. Whether it’s simply a reaction of the combination of the right hormones or it’s something beyond understanding, it exists, and it’s a beautiful thing.

Later, Sierra asked us, “Is there a ‘bleu cheese?’” We said yes and then she asked, “Is there a ‘purple cheese?’”

Bush laughs funny.

Weather - WTF?

Weather May 15 '06

Portland weather should not emulate Arizona in the middle of May - or ever, for that matter - but it did today. SO HOT. My favorite temp is 72°, so a blazing 97° was really a bit much for me.

Today’s torrid temperature inspired me to buy some pants that have zip-off bottoms. Despite the fact that Yahoo! doesn’t have an official dress code, the Sales organization (to which I belong) doesn’t allow shorts, so these zip-offs are the best I can do. Well, I guess I could wear a dress… but that’s more trouble than it’s worth.

Macaulay Culkin
The unofficial dress code makes me and Macaulay sad.

That’s all I got. This is my lamest post in a long time; hopefully, it won’t happen again. I’ll blame my lack of inspiration on the weather.
